Open the swaddle bag and loosen the belly band.
Place your baby in the sleeping bag and secure the belly band under the arms, across the belly.
Start with both arms inside the bag and offer more freedom as your baby begins to roll, by opening one or both arm zippers.
Is the sleeping bag too big? Make it smaller by rolling up the bottom, folding it, and fastening it with the snap buttons.
At Puckababy, we recommend stopping swaddling as soon as your baby starts rolling over. Swaddling can become dangerous if your baby can roll, as it limits their movement and can cause suffocation. Pay close attention to your baby’s signals and stop swaddling as soon as you notice your baby starting to roll. This is the perfect moment to transition to a sleeping bag that provides more freedom of movement, allowing your baby to sleep safely and continue developing.
It’s usually better to phase out swaddling gradually. This gives your baby time to adjust to the change. A sudden stop can be confusing or even stressful for your baby. By making the transition slowly and step by step, your baby can adjust at their own pace.

The choice of the right sleep sack depends on the season and the temperature in the room where your baby sleeps. The Tencel sleep sack is ideal for the warm summer months, while the cotton sleep sack is suitable for spring, summer, early autumn, or a well-heated room. The double-lined teddy sleep sack provides extra warmth and is perfect for the colder months or a cooler room.

The difference between the cotton and tencel Mini lies in the fabric properties. Both fabrics have a TOG value of 0.5, but for the summer months, we recommend the tencel sleep sack. Tencel absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton, offers excellent temperature regulation, is cooling, heat-regulating, and antibacterial. Additionally, tencel contains 7% elastane, making the fabric more flexible than cotton, providing your baby with more room to move.
To make sure your baby isn’t too hot or too cold, you can use the TOG value. This system helps you determine the best clothing to wear under the swaddle sleep sack for any room temperature. This way, you can always dress your baby comfortably and safely in the right layers depending on the room temperature. Each product comes with a TOG chart to give you clear guidance so you can make the right choice.
