How does the mattress protector work?

Custom8 compared the air permeability of AeroSleep products with that of conventional bedding, both in a dry and wet state.
AeroSleep's 3D technology, combined with the perforated fabric, allows air to circulate 10 times more effectively than conventional bedding. And after contact with moisture, the AeroSleep products were actually up to 40 times more air permeable than conventional bedding.
All AeroSleep products are naturally free from harmful substances and have Oeko-Tex 100 certification - the most stringent safety certification for textiles.
Material choice
The 3D layer of the mattress protector and bed bumper, the fitted sheet and the pillow (case) are made of polyester.
Maybe you're wondering why we don't use a "natural" fabric like cotton or bamboo? Here's the answer! The 3D layer needs a certain level of stability that can only be achieved with a strong synthetic fibre. On top of that, a perforated fitted sheet made of polyester is essential to prevent any impairment to the breathability of the 3D structure.
There are two reasons for this
The perforations in the fabric allow air to circulate freely. A conventional cotton sheet significantly reduces air permeability.
When cotton gets wet, the fibres hold on to the moisture and prevent any air at all from passing through. Thanks to the combination of polyester and perforations, the AeroSleep fitted sheet doesn't retain moisture. It allows it to pass straight through the absorbent layer of the mattress protector so that your child can always breathe freely and stay dry. It's a must-have!

Polyester is hard-wearing and its fibres are not susceptible to bacteria and mould. Polyester is soft, hypoallergenic and prevents skin irritation and allergic reactions. That's why it's a safe choice of fabric choice for babies' and children's sensitive skin.
Polyester is crease-resistant, colourfast, dimensionally stable, lightweight, easy to wash and fast drying. The fact that it's 100% recyclable also makes it an environmentally conscious choice.
